Tarmo Lemola has been invited to assist the European Commission as an independent expert in the ex-post evaluation of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The overall objective of the exercise is to provide an evaluation of the rationale, implementation and achievements of all dimensions and research fields of the FP6. The evaluation report will be delivered by the end of 2008. The Framework Programmes are some of the world’s most comprehensive research programmes. As well as specific research activities, they encompass activities aimed at developing the EU’s human and physical research resources, and activities for the dissemination uptake and exploitation of knowledge. The total budget of FP6 carried out 2002-2006 was € 17.5 billion.
